About Lumbini Bouddha University
Lumbini Buddhist University (LBU), Lumbini came into existence on 29 Nov., 2004 (14 Marga, 2061 VS) after the promulgation of an ordinance relating to it.
LBU is located in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, in the Rupandehi district of Nepal. The university aims to provide education and research opportunities in Buddhist studies.

Main Objectives
Impart education and training relating to Buddhism, Buddhist philosophy, culture and archaeology
Promote Buddha way of life according to Gautam Buddha teachings
Foster Universal peace, friendship, goodwill and understandings as an international Buddhist University
Serve as an academic center to disseminate the teachings of Lord Buddha
Develop Lumbini as the centre for the propagation of Buddha teachings
